You Are Not Fools, Dear Opposition: MP from the Prosperous Armenia Party
The opposition has once again arrived, uttering false, baseless, manipulative, and anti-state rhetoric before fleeing the parliament hall. This was stated today by Arthur Hovhannisyan, the secretary of the parliamentary faction of the Prosperous Armenia Party, during the announcements hour.
“Now we are talking to empty chairs, but it’s clear that the opposition’s chairs speak more eloquently. For me, perhaps it is amusing to look at these empty chairs. You come here, speaking about lofty ideas. Dashnak Lilit Galstyan has come here and is talking about lofty values, creating an academic city in a crumbling, disintegrating country while discussing her prioritized education sector. Your Dashnak minister sold all the kindergartens and schools, and now you’re coming to criticize the academic city? Is this a joke? Think before you speak, Ms. Galstyan. What does it even mean to talk about a “disintegrating” country? I urge you, you are not fools, dear opposition, forgive me. What are you talking about? Do not dare speak with curses about my state, my Republic of Armenia. You are not foolish,” he announced.
According to the MP, the political opposition should use a political lexicon in their discourse. “It is fortunate that you do not have management leverages right now, because at that time, we were practically applying your curses. What a thing.”
“Another Dashnak MP, Agvan Vardanyan, who, according to rumors swirling in the air, has embezzled funds from several orphaned children, has come here and has been trying since morning to belittle the EU monitoring mission in Armenia by circulating false theses that it was under their watch that Armenian territories were occupied, although we all know very well when it happened, under whose rule it happened, and under whose silence it took place. It should be noted that the political opposition in Armenia is not political opposition; it is the opposition to the peace and development of Armenia, and we must show the corresponding attitude towards these agents. These are political agents,” Hovhannisyan stated.
