Azerbaijan and Supporting Countries Pursue Such Goals, Says Rubinyan
Gegam Manukyan, for some reason, decided to manipulate, although I know why: this was stated today by the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan during the discussion of the agreement on the status of the European Union mission in Armenia.
“This agreement does not regulate the arrival or departure of the EU observer mission, the timeline, or which countries can participate. It governs the status of representatives of the existing EU mission in Armenia. That is, conditionally speaking, if the status of the personnel and vehicles of diplomatic missions present in our country is regulated by convention X, in this case, since there is none, it is governed by this agreement. How was it decided that the EU observer mission would come to Armenia? Armenia applied, they agreed, the agreement was fulfilled, and they came. Then how was it decided that Canada would participate in this? First, Canada has relevant cooperation with the EU, and second, Armenia gave its consent. Can the EU mission come or stay in Armenia without Armenia's desire and permission? The answer is no. Can the EU mission engage observers from a third country without Armenia's consent? The answer is no,” Rubinyan stated.
He noted that this is not regulated by the agreement currently under discussion. “I believe that the purpose of raising these issues on your part is actually to discredit the EU observer mission, that is obvious. I also believe that such a goal is pursued, for example, by Azerbaijan and those countries that support Azerbaijan on this issue. It is not worth doing this,” Rubinyan concluded.
