Stoltenberg: Preventing Putin's Victory is in Azerbaijan's Interests
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that "the Caucasus is not so far from Ukraine, where Russia is conducting a large-scale aggressive war that is significant for all of Europe." According to him, NATO aims to further develop partnerships with the countries of the Caucasus.
"The Caucasus is also not so far from Ukraine, where Russia is waging a large-scale aggressive war that matters for all of Europe. This is significant for the Caucasus. If President Putin wins in Ukraine, it will be a challenge not only for Ukrainians but also dangerous for all of us, including for Azerbaijan and NATO allies. This would send a kind of message to President Putin, that by using military force he can get what he wants. In other words, he will see that a blatant violation of international law, an invasion of another country, justifies him, which will increase the possibilities for anyone wishing to use force in the future. Therefore, it is in the interests of us, NATO allies, as well as Azerbaijan and many other countries in the world, to prevent President Putin's victory," Stoltenberg said.
