Most Banks in Armenia to Stop Accepting Russian 'Mir' Cards; Reasons Unveiled

Most banks in Armenia will cease accepting 'Mir' cards, reports Ura.ru. Starting March 30, payments and cash withdrawals via the Russian payment system's terminals will only be available at one bank, 'VTB Armenia', according to a representative of the bank and sources from the Russian payment market.

The decision is attributed to the sanctions imposed by the United States on February 23 against the operator of the National Payment Card System, Mir.
