Polish Farmers to Continue Keeping Border Checkpoint with Ukraine Closed

Polish farmers have increased the number of trucks allowed to pass through the Dorohusk border checkpoint with Ukraine, but they have refused to promise a full reopening, the Polish PAP agency reports.

The leader of the protest, Wojciech Łoś, told PAP that the number of trucks permitted to cross the border has risen from one or two per hour to five. Earlier, he mentioned that all remaining trucks would be allowed to pass as a gesture of goodwill.

“Some of the organizers wanted that, but unfortunately, there was no complete agreement among the protesters, and we ultimately agreed that the allowable number of trucks will be increased to five per hour,” he said.
