The Cooperation between the Azerbaijani Army and Turkish Armed Forces Will Greatly Contribute to NATO, Says Secretary General
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has praised the professionalism of Azerbaijani army personnel in peacekeeping missions and their activities within the framework of NATO partnership. This statement was made today, on March 18, during a meeting with Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
Stoltenberg emphasized that the close cooperation of the Azerbaijani army with the Turkish Armed Forces will also make a significant contribution to the relations between Azerbaijan and NATO.
Hasanov outlined the reforms being undertaken in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, discussing demining efforts and the situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. He spoke of the achievements gained through cooperation with NATO and stressed the importance of further developing these relations.
It was reported that the parties discussed prospects for development in cybersecurity, demining, as well as in bilateral military relations and other areas, exchanging views on regional security and various issues of mutual interest.
