Emmanuel Macron Considers the Implementation of Ground Operation in Ukraine
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, considers the possibility of implementing a ground operation in Ukraine. At the same time, he has stated that he does not wish to carry it out.
“Maybe at some point, I will have to take action on the ground, whatever that may be, to confront Russian forces. France's strength lies in the fact that we can do this,” Macron told Le Parisien.
The French president believes that his country should be prepared for any scenario. According to him, in any potential scenario, each party will bear responsibility based on their chosen model. Macron noted that many European countries support France in this direction, stating that they are certainly not small states.
It is worth recalling that at the end of February, after a meeting with European leaders, Emmanuel Macron announced that he was open to sending troops to Ukraine. Several of Kyiv's allies, including Germany and the U.S., subsequently declared there were no such plans. However, some countries have supported discussions on this topic, including the Baltic states, Poland, and Finland.
