Video: Belgorod Shelled, Casualties Reported

Mariam Z.

Two people have died and three others have been injured as a result of shelling in Belgorod by the Ukrainian armed forces. The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced this via his Telegram channel.

“Unfortunately, two people have died—a man and a woman. The man was behind the wheel of a truck when a shell hit, causing the vehicle to collide with a passenger bus. Another woman died in a garage cooperative where she had come to feed her dogs with her son,” the governor noted.

According to him, doctors are fighting for the life of a boy who has shrapnel injuries to his head, shoulder, and chest. Gladkov added that two other men sustained closed head injuries. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory.

All injured have been transferred to City Hospital No. 2 in Belgorod, where doctors are providing the necessary medical assistance.

It should be noted that Ukrainian forces regularly shell and attack border regions of the Russian Federation by various means, including UAVs, particularly in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh regions.

Additionally, a high (yellow) level of terrorist threat has been established across Belgorod since April 11, 2022. The need for this regime has been attributed to the worsening situation on the Ukraine-Russia border and the increased activity of Ukrainian military forces in border areas. The length of the border between Belgorod region and Ukraine is 350 km.
