Residents of Voskepar Prepare Petition Addressed to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan

The leaders of the Tavush and Shirak dioceses held a service at the 7th-century church of Voskepar, where residents prepared a petition addressed to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was reported by journalist Voskan Sargsyan on his Facebook page.

“Today, March 16, in the 7th-century structure of the Holy Mother of God Church in Voskepar, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan of Tavush and Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan of Shirak conducted a service, attended by many residents of Voskepar.

After the service, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan stated that the stones of the 7th-century holy church are powerful. He mentioned that in 1918, there was no place for retreat, leading to the victorious battle of Sardarapat. Now, Voskepar marks the end of our retreat, and victory will begin from here.

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan recalled Monte's words that surrendering Artsakh would mean closing the last chapter of our history, adding that surrendering Voskepar would close the book of our history, hammering the last nail into our coffin. He emphasized that Voskepar is not just the houses of the village; it is a significant concept that encompasses much, including communications.

Following the service, the archbishops met with the villagers, among whom were also Voskepar resident, former head of the army corps staff, Colonel Mihran Makhsudyan, and head of the Tavush regional organization of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Yura Harutyunyan. The residents of Voskepar prepared a petition to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in which they expressed their opposition to handing over territories to Azerbaijan in the border zone.
