More Than 4 Million People Participate in Presidential Elections in Moscow in the First Two Days

By the end of the second day of voting in the Russian presidential elections in Moscow, nearly 4.3 million people had participated. This information was reported by the Public Election Observation Headquarters website.

It was noted that the majority of participants voted electronically, with around 3.2 million people doing so. Approximately 1.1 million Muscovites cast their votes using paper ballots.

“As of 8 PM, a total of 4,286,496 ballots have been issued, with 4,286,496 being remote and 1,098,034 being paper,” stated Olga Kirilova, chair of the Moscow City Election Commission, to journalists.

Polling stations in the capital closed at 8 PM Moscow time, while observers at the central observation point will continue to monitor order throughout the night.

Vadim Kovalyov, head of the Public Observation Headquarters, mentioned that the voting process has been generally calm, with small queues reported in some areas.

Earlier, Nikolai Bulaev, deputy chairman of the Russian Central Election Commission, announced that the first results of the Russian presidential elections are expected to be announced on Sunday, March 17, after 9 PM Moscow time.
