An elderly resident of Moscow set fire to her ballot while in the polling booth. The incident did not affect the voting process at the polling station, as reported to TASS by Dmitry Reut, the deputy chairman of the Moscow city electoral commission.

“The elderly woman from Moscow received her ballot, entered the voting booth, poured fuel on it, and set it ablaze. No one was harmed, and the equipment, ballots, and documents were not damaged. Law enforcement quickly extinguished the fire, ventilated the area, and the work continued,” Reut said.

He clarified that the incident occurred at polling station number 1527. Preliminary information suggests that the woman has serious health issues.

It is worth noting that presidential elections in the Russian Federation began today and will last for three days, concluding on the main election day, March 17.
