The Road Segment Leading to Jermuk is Now Open for Two-Way Traffic
On March 15, at 09:57, the crisis management center of the Vayots Dzor regional rescue department received information that a rockfall had occurred near the 2nd turn on the road leading to Jermuk city, causing the road to be closed on one side; assistance from rescuers was necessary.
An operational group from the fire-rescue unit of the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a rockfall (approximately 4 cubic meters) had occurred at the 1st kilometer of the road segment leading to Jermuk from the M-2 interstate highway, resulting in the road being closed on one side.
Rescuers have cordoned off the area and established duty there. Rescue teams, alongside the patrol service and employees of Vayk Road Operations, jointly carried out road clearing works, and the road segment is now open for two-way traffic.
