Rockslide on the Road to Jermuk Causes One-Way Closure

A rockslide has occurred on the section of the road leading to Jermuk from the M-2 interstate highway. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Rescue Service.

According to the report, at 09:57 today, information was received by the crisis management center of the Vayots Dzor regional rescue department that a rockslide had occurred near the second curve of the road to Jermuk, resulting in a one-way closure of the road. The assistance of rescuers was required.

An operational group from the fire and rescue unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been dispatched to the scene. It has been determined that the rockslide occurred at the 1 km mark on the road section leading from the M-2 interstate highway to Jermuk, with approximately 4 cubic meters of soil involved in the slide, causing a one-way closure of the road section.

Rescuers have cordoned off the area and established a watch duty. Clearing operations for the road section are currently underway.
