I Have Not Tried to Leave Armenia, Nor Has Anyone Informed Me That Our Exit is Closed: Artsakh MP

I have not tried to leave Armenia, nor has anyone informed me that our exit is closed; I learned about such a thing from the press. This was stated by David Galstyan, head of the 'Justice' faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, in an interview with 'Pastinfo'.

Commenting on the criminal case initiated in connection with Araik Harutyunyan's resignation, he noted that he has never been summoned for questioning by the investigative bodies of Armenia. 'I am not even aware that an investigation is being conducted regarding the surrender of Artsakh or Araik Harutyunyan's resignation. Moreover, I do not believe that we can know the truth about why Artsakh was surrendered under this government since it is precisely these authorities who brought about the war and surrendered Artsakh; they came to power with that goal in mind. I maintain my conviction that during this government’s tenure, the actions of this government will not be revealed,' he stated.

According to him, Araik Harutyunyan's team members also participate in the discussions among the factions of the Artsakh National Assembly. 'I believe they too have realized that Nikol Pashinyan is implementing a program, unfortunately, they realized it later than necessary. I have no information about them being summoned for questioning. I know that the president was invited once, but for another issue; however, concerning the timing of surrendering Artsakh, it is so clear to me how it was surrendered that if they try to place the blame on the Artsakh legislators now, it will seem utterly fabricated. If there is such a thing, those individuals are satellites of that government, attempting to whitewash the crime committed by this leadership by designating other political forces or representatives of those political forces as guilty,' said the Artsakh MP.

Regarding Araik Harutyunyan’s resignation, D. Galstyan expressed his belief that it was coordinated with Nikol Pashinyan. 'The answer to why he resigned can be given by Nikol Pashinyan. It was Araik Harutyunyan’s decision; many present it as if he resigned under pressure, but I assert convincingly that the greatest pressure on Araik Harutyunyan was on November 13, 2020, when four political forces demanded his resignation; however, he did not resign at that time. The discussions that he resigned under internal political pressure are not true. If there was pressure, we are unaware of it; it might have come from external forces or the authorities of the Republic of Armenia, which we don't know about. It is definite that there was no such pressure internally; on the contrary, they were trying to convince Araik Harutyunyan that, given the current situation, that decision was wrong, but Araik Harutyunyan did not listen and took that step,' said D. Galstyan.
