The West is Trying to Make Armenia a Tool Against Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry Claims

The Russian Foreign Ministry has commented on the statement made by the UK Deputy Secretary of Defense James Hippie regarding Britain's readiness to protect Armenia from Russian "threats."

“We are no longer surprised by the fact that London has stopped hiding the anti-Russian essence of its actions in the post-Soviet space, including the South Caucasus. However, Hippie's admission also directly confirms that the West is seeking to make Armenia a tool for its policy against Moscow in the region,” the Russian foreign ministry reported.

It was noted that the situation warrants a reflection for responsible political figures in Yerevan.

Previously, UK Deputy Secretary of Defense James Hippie stated that London acknowledges the Armenian authorities' decision to suspend their membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and is prepared to offer support in the event of threats from Russia.
