Passenger Plane Deviates from Course Due to Pilots Sleeping in Indonesia

The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation is conducting an inspection of the local airline Baltic Air after it was reported that two pilots fell asleep during a flight. This information has been reported by Metro, as conveyed by gazeta.ru.

The incident occurred during a flight to Jakarta, with 153 passengers and crew members on board. A few minutes after takeoff, one of the pilots asked his colleague if he could rest, and after receiving permission, he quickly fell asleep. A few minutes later, the captain of the aircraft also dozed off.

The pilots did not communicate with dispatchers for half an hour, causing the plane to deviate from its flight path. One of the pilots eventually woke up and managed to regain control of the flight trajectory. Both pilots have been removed from flying duties while the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation investigates the causes of the incident.
