Murder in Aragatsotn Province
Today, March 10, another murder occurred in Aragatsotn Province, which could have been prevented if the Aragatsotn Provincial Police Department, led by Chief Alik Hakobyan, and the Ashtarak Division, headed by Chief Sergey Martirosyan, had understood the operational situation in the region and could effectively work with their intelligence network, reports photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan.
At around 16:20, operational information was received at the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia that a stabbing had taken place near the 'Eagle Wings' rest area in Aragatsotn Province, resulting in a citizen being transported to the Ashtarak Medical Center in a deceased state.
It was established that the deceased was 43-year-old Norik Bakoyan, a resident of the village of Oshakan. The police also found that he was taken to the hospital by a civilian vehicle.
On the same day, around 19:30, a dispute over personal issues erupted in a vicinity adjacent to a barn used by 25-year-old Mirza Khaloyan from the village of Oshakan, involving 43-year-old Norik Bakoyan, his 19-year-old son Surik Bakoyan, and 25-year-old Mirza Khaloyan, along with his shepherd Surik Usoyan, a 23-year-old resident of Armavir Province. During this altercation, N. and S. Bakoyan struck S. Usoyan with stones and wood, after which M. Khaloyan inflicted stab wounds on N. Bakoyan with a knife he had on him, resulting in Bakoyan's death due to the injuries sustained.
Officers from the Main Directorate of Criminal Police later, joined by officers from the Aragatsotn Provincial Police Department and the Ashtarak Division, located the suspect M. Khaloyan and transported him to the Ashtarak Division of Police, from where he was presented to the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department.
