The Greek Minister of Defense Talks About Cooperation with Armenia

Athens will cooperate with Yerevan, taking into account the lessons learned from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was stated by Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias in an interview with Naftemporiki newspaper.

"It cannot be denied that the technological developments in unmanned aerial vehicles and anti-drone systems have globally changed the ways of conducting warfare. During my recent visit to Armenia, I learned in detail about their application in the modern battlefield. I would like to remind you that this is a country whose armed forces were attacked by an army that massively employed drones, including 'Bayraktars'. For this reason, we will cooperate with Armenia within the framework of bilateral agreements on defense cooperation, considering the lessons learned from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Dendias noted.

He emphasized that Greece recognizes the importance of these technologies and is actively working to strengthen its capabilities in this area within the framework of a new ecosystem. "We need to work quickly to overcome the particular gap we have compared to neighboring countries, and it is also necessary to create an air defense umbrella covering Greek territory against drones," the Greek Minister of Defense pointed out.
