Student in Moscow Arrested for 10 Days Over Pro-Ukrainian Wi-Fi Network Name

The Nikulinsky Court in Moscow has sentenced Oleg Tarasov, a student at Moscow State University, to ten days in jail for naming his Wi-Fi network "Slava Ukraini" in his dormitory. This information comes from the court's database.

The young man has been found guilty of displaying Nazi symbols. According to RTVI, Tarasov, who has no prior administrative offenses, changed the Wi-Fi network name to the pro-Ukrainian slogan allegedly to promote the slogans of Ukrainian nationalists.

In court, the 22-year-old student confessed that he had created the network himself. In 2022, he had participated in anti-war protests, according to Telegram channels. In case of a repeated offense, a criminal case may be initiated against Tarasov.
