Germany's Vice Chancellor Uses Expletives Urging Resolution of Climate Issues
Germany's Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck used expletives during a speech at Columbia University in New York on climate change. He urged that the issues should not be left as a legacy for future generations but rather be addressed now. RTVI reports on this matter.
“Solve those (damn) issues we face now,” Habeck told students, as reported by Der Spiegel.
The politician, who also heads Germany's Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, criticized the United States for its climate protection policies. “I don’t see that the United States is on the path to climate neutrality,” the Vice Chancellor stated, adding that U.S. carbon dioxide emissions are among the highest in the world.
According to Habeck, “Politics is not a repetition of what was considered right 30 years ago,” as it must “deal with reality as it is.”
