Why is Pashinyan Meeting with the CP in the National Assembly? A Lawmaker Responds

There is no need to look for intrigue in our meetings. These meetings are periodic in nature, this is the latest one. This was stated by Vaghazhak Hakobyan, a member of the CP faction, during a conversation with reporters before Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's closed meeting with the CP faction in the National Assembly today.

"We discuss both foreign and domestic political issues," he said.

When asked whether the issue of applying for EU candidate status would be discussed, he replied: "Armenia is a member of the EAEU, Armenia has repeatedly stated that it has the problem of diversifying its market, Armenia has made public statements that stem from our priorities and our visions. The processes are dynamic, and I would not want us to emphasize the logic of oppositions. We have a sequence of steps and goals aimed at both the development and strengthening of Armenia's security and its economic life."

Regarding Armenian-Russian relations, the CP member stated: "Both we and our Russian partners must do everything possible for the complex and difficult contextual issues, as well as any disagreements that may exist, to be resolved at the working level."
