VIDEO: This Will Be Risky for Armenia, Says Minister of Finance
My professional orientation is a bit different, and I do not fully possess all the details regarding this issue to provide a correct stance. This was stated today by Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, in response to a question about leaving the CSTO.
Speaking about the possibility of leaving the EAEU, Hovhannisyan emphasized that it would be risky for Armenia because there is economic dependence on Russia.
“We have a significant dependency on the Russian Federation in various areas, including exports, imports, energy, and other issues. In any case, dependence on a single point—whatever that point may be—must be diversified in order to enhance our sovereignty. Dependence on any singular point is undesirable. I believe that leaving the EAEU would be risky,” the minister stated.
