VIDEO: Azerbaijan has taken positions in Armenian territory, while Arshak Karapetyan tells me everything is calm, says Pashinyan

Arshak Karapetyan was the shortest-serving Defense Minister during my term and perhaps in the history of the Third Republic, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference.

“During his time as Deputy Chief of General Staff, the May 2021 events occurred, followed by his tenure as Defense Minister, during which the November 2021 events took place. I made the decision to remove him from his position for a specific reason: On the morning of November 14, 2021, Arshak Karapetyan reported to me that everything was calm and quiet along the border, whereas at that moment, Azerbaijani troops had invaded our territory in several sectors of the border and had even taken positions. As either he was not aware of this as a Defense Minister, or did not inform me, I cannot tolerate anyone in such a position for even half an hour under these circumstances,” he said.
