Russian President Vladimir Putin has once again taken the controls of an aircraft, this time at the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School. Afterward, he met with the graduate female pilots of the academy and noted that he had actually only piloted a motorized deltaplane, while the rest were simulators.

“But even there, one had to learn because the sky is a serious matter. We weren’t flying high, about 400 meters, but even there, when the wind blows, it immediately shakes,” he said.

During a conversation with the female pilots, Putin admitted that he tries not to display emotions during meetings with soldiers involved in the special military operation; however, such meetings are the most emotional for him. “The brightest events, of course, are the meetings with our boys or girls, our female pilots who are serving in the special military operation zone, or with their family members. To be honest, I try not to show emotions, but nonetheless, these events and meetings carry a more vivid emotional shade,” he said.

In late February, during a visit to Kazan, Putin took a half-hour flight in an upgraded Tu-160M strategic missile carrier. The Russian president was at the controls during the flight, with the chief pilot beside him.
