It Is Known Who Will Replace Gevorg Papoyan in the National Assembly
In the National Assembly of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan will be replaced by David Karapetyan, the former head of the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district. This information is provided by the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia.
On the agenda of today's regular meeting of the CEC was the record sent by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, on March 4, according to which "Civil Contract" party deputy Gevorg Papoyan had submitted a resignation request for his parliamentary mandate.
According to the report, "The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has registered David Gurgen Karapetyan as a deputy from the sequential list of the 'Civil Contract' party."
It should be noted that David Karapetyan was born in 1991 in Yerevan. From October 2018 until January 2022, he served as the head of the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district. From 2022 to 2023, he was a legal advisor at Armenia's State Supervisory Service. In July 2023, David Karapetyan was appointed Deputy Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia.
Recall that Vahan Kerobyan was relieved of his duties as Minister of Economy on February 14. On February 24, it became known that the executive body of the "Civil Contract" party approved the appointment of Gevorg Papoyan to that position. On February 26, he resigned from his parliamentary mandate, and on March 5, he was appointed Minister of Economy.
