One of Cairo's Squares to Be Named After Armenia

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt continues. A meeting took place between Prime Minister Pashinyan and Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in the New Administrative Capital. Madbouly welcomed the Prime Minister's visit to the newly constructed administrative city and emphasized the importance of multifaceted cooperation between Armenia and Egypt. He highlighted the long-standing historical relations between the two countries and stated that the Armenian community in Egypt lives cohesively within Egyptian society without any issues.

Mr. Madbouly noted the productive meetings of the Armenian Prime Minister with the President and representatives of the business community in Egypt aimed at strengthening and promoting economic ties. Furthermore, Mostafa Madbouly expressed gratitude to the Armenian government for its role in enhancing Egypt-Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) cooperation.

Prime Minister Pashinyan thanked his host for the warm hospitality and added that he had fruitful discussions with the President of Egypt. He expressed hope that as a result of his official visit, alongside the excellent political relations, economic cooperation will also deepen. In this context, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of his meetings with businesspeople.

Additionally, the upcoming meeting of the Armenia-Egypt intergovernmental cooperation committee and a parallel business forum were highlighted, where various investment proposals will be presented. The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of Egypt's support in logistical matters regarding sending humanitarian aid from Armenia to Gaza.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues related to expanding trade, as well as opportunities for implementing investment programs. Mostafa Madbouly thanked the Armenian side for naming one of Yerevan's squares after Egypt and noted that the Egyptian side would name one of the squares in the capital after Armenia.

Exchanges of thoughts also took place regarding the construction process in the new administrative city of Egypt, as well as the Academic City in Armenia. An agreement was reached to hold the Armenia-Egypt intergovernmental committee meeting and a business forum in the upcoming months.
