Heavy Snowfall in Jermuk and Other Areas: Road Closures

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-access roads in the Republic of Armenia.

The roads from the "Amberd" high-mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lich are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult for heavy vehicles due to snow and fog (it's advised to use snow chains).

Snow is falling in Shirak, Lori Provinces, in the Dilijan winding roads, in the section called "Meghry Mountain," and in the regions of Aparan, Talin, as well as in the cities of Sisian, Hrazdan, and Vardenis. Blizzard conditions are present in the Ashotsk region.

According to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Management Department and the North Ossetian Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepanavan-Lars road is closed for heavy vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel only with winter tires.
