Zelensky Addresses After Rocket Attack on His Motorcade

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has commented on the incident that occurred in Odesa. According to him, he and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis were in the port during the attack. This information comes from Meduza.

“We witnessed that strike today. You see who we are dealing with; they do not care where they hit. I know that there have been injuries today; I do not yet know all the details, but I am aware that there are casualties and wounded,” said the Ukrainian president at a press conference with Mitsotakis.

The Greek Prime Minister confirmed that explosions occurred near the location where the Greek delegation and Ukrainian officials were present. “Towards the end, we heard alarm signals and explosions that were very close to us. We did not manage to reach a protected location; it was a very impressive experience,” he stated.

Earlier, the Greek newspaper “Prototema” reported that Russia had launched a missile strike targeting the motorcade of President Volodymyr Zelensky in Odesa, shortly before his meeting with the Greek Prime Minister. “There are no concerns regarding the safety of the Prime Minister and the Greek delegation,” said official government sources. “We are all well,” affirmed Greek State Minister Stavros Papastavrou in a previous comment to the newspaper.

It is noteworthy that earlier reports indicated an explosion had been heard in Odesa.
