Military Equipment Acquisition from Russia Has Dropped from 96% to Below 10% – Grigoryan

Currently, Armenia is implementing a diversification policy. This was stated by Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly today.

“I have noted that the acquisition of military equipment from Russia has decreased from 96% to below 10%. This means that Armenia is diversifying and acquiring partners not only in the West but also in other places, including Asia, India, and various directions,” said Grigoryan, adding that this pertains to both military and economic sectors.

“In January, the foreign trade turnover with the UAE reached 16%. Last January it was 4%. This indicates that significant changes have occurred; Armenia is implementing a diversification policy in the economy, politics, and security sectors. Armenia is not going anywhere; Armenia is also pursuing a regionalization policy, maintaining good relations with the West and trying to build good relations with all neighbors, including Turkey and Azerbaijan. This is our agenda; everything is clear,” he stated.
