Calls in Azerbaijan to 'Initiate Military Operations in Armenia'
Azerbaijan "must carry out military operations in Armenia, as long as Yerevan lacks heavy weaponry and connects eight villages to its territory," stated Fazail Aghamalin, a member of the Azerbaijani parliament, as reported by local media.
“Armenia is 'preparing' for a war against Azerbaijan with 'revanchist' thoughts. We will go to the end. We will not back down against any force. As long as Armenia lacks heavy weaponry, we must engage in military operations and unite the eight 'occupied' villages with our lands,” said the parliamentarian.
At the end of the year, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, Gnel Sanosyan, addressing the issue of exclaves, stated that the eight villages should either be exchanged or receive certain territorial arrangements. “There are certain areas that Azerbaijan is marking, and there are areas that we are discussing; the process can be organized in the following way: those areas should be specifically designated, and their legal grounds must be established, because it is one thing to talk about parts of a territory, and another thing is the legal status of the territory, existing grounds, etc. Then, there should be two processes: an exchange or certain geographical arrangements,” the minister noted.
