Shark Attacks 11-Year-Old Girl

A shark attacked an 11-year-old girl surfing in the Hawaiian Islands, according to ABC News. The incident occurred around noon on March 2 in the Honolulu area.

The young surfer was sitting not far from the shore when the predator struck her, biting her left leg. The injured girl managed to reach the shore on her own, after which emergency medical personnel arrived to assist her.

Doctors examined her and concluded that the wound was not life-threatening. Following this, the girl's parents declined to take her to the hospital.

Authorities have decided to install special signs on the beach warning swimmers of potential dangers.
