Rosselkhoznadzor Discovers Intestinal Stick Group Bacteria in Imported Salmon Roe from Armenia

The Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia has received a communication from the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) regarding the discovery of intestinal stick group bacteria (ESC) in the salmon roe produced by Max Fish LLC, imported from Armenia, during laboratory testing.

This information has been reported by the Food Safety Inspection Body (FSIB).

Taking into account the results recorded, the status of Max Fish LLC in the register of organizations and individuals engaged in the production, processing, and/or storage of controlled goods transported from one member state of the Eurasian Economic Union to another has changed from “enhanced laboratory control” to “temporarily restricted.” Max Fish LLC has been informed of this restriction.

The Russian authorized body has requested clarification on the circumstances of the violation. The inspection body will undertake state control measures at Max Fish LLC, and additional information about the results will be provided later.

It is noteworthy that the FSIB last conducted an inspection at Max Fish in 2023, and no violations were found.
