Over 600 Million Drams for Parking in the Center's Red Lines Over 2 Months
Since January 1, parking fees in Yerevan's center have increased. From January to February, drivers paid a total of 803 million drams for parking in the red zones A and B, reports 1Lurer.am.
This figure includes payments made for durations ranging from one hour to one year. Only from annual packages, more than 693 million drams have entered the municipal budget.
The main goal of the municipality for this change is considered to be the decongestion of the center. Officials claim that after the price increase, free spaces in parking lots have started to become more frequent, while many organizations concerned with drivers' interests argue that this decongestion approach has not proven effective.
