"It’s Obvious That It’s My Fault": Elon Musk
The U.S. federal budget will soon have no choice but to pay interest on debt, according to American entrepreneur Elon Musk, who shared this insight on his X social media page, as reported by RIA Novosti.
This remark came in response to a post from the well-known Shibetoshi Nakamoto public page, which sarcastically highlighted that despite the issues related to national debt, the U.S. government still considers Elon Musk to be a primary concern.
“It’s obvious that it’s my fault,” Musk joked, adding, “But, heaven forbid, we better do something about it, or else the entire federal budget will be dedicated to paying off interest, and there will be nothing left.”
The publication provided a link to material from CNBC, noting that the U.S. national debt grows by one trillion dollars approximately every hundred days. Earlier, the U.S. Congressional Budget Office released a report indicating that the country's national debt is projected to reach an absolute historical record of 116% of the U.S. GDP by the end of 2034. It was mentioned that without changes in American legislation, the level of debt will continue to rise.
