France is Attempting to Disrupt Azerbaijan-Armenia Negotiations, Says Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, head of the Turkish delegation to NATO and former Foreign Minister of Turkey, stated in response to a question from an APA correspondent regarding Armenia-Azerbaijan relations that several European countries, particularly France, are trying to disrupt the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

According to Çavuşoğlu, Azerbaijan has shown sincerity in achieving peace. He noted that Armenia would also be close to signing a peace agreement with Azerbaijan if there were no "external pressures."

"Turkey continues the reconciliation process in coordination with Azerbaijan. Every positive step between Azerbaijan and Armenia will have a positive impact on the process between Turkey and Armenia," the Turkish diplomat said, adding, "Of course, Georgia is also important in the region. But these processes are significant not only for the region. The modernization of the Middle Corridor and the increase of energy communication capabilities are vital for Europe and Asia."
