Armenian Foreign Ministry Responds to Possible Visit of Zelensky to Armenia
Is a visit by Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky planned for Armenia? The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic has responded to the circulating news.
In response to a question from Armenpress, MFA spokesperson Ani Badalyan said, "I can say that high-level visits are officially communicated in a timely manner."
It is noteworthy that earlier, media reports indicated that President Volodymyr Zelensky would visit Yerevan and Baku in March. It has been mentioned that the visit to Armenia will likely take place on March 4.
According to Factor TV, the Ukrainian President is set to visit Armenia shortly. Sources from the news outlet note that preparations for the visit are underway, though the timing of the trip has not been finalized yet. Negotiations are ongoing with the Ukrainian side regarding the timing. It is expected that Volodymyr Zelensky will be in Yerevan in March.
The Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in Armenia, Valery Lobach, did not deny this information from Factor TV. Earlier, he was asked about the potential impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war in the South Caucasus, to which the diplomat replied, "In fact, there is a lot to say at this time, but I cannot comment further yet. You will hear news in a few days and find out what will happen. I can say that Ukraine is ready to support Armenia. Without opening parentheses… you will see in a few days. In any case, our country will do everything to contribute to the resolution and stabilization of the region."
When asked by a journalist if he was hinting at the possible visit of the Ukrainian president, Lobach responded, "I can only say that spring will bring many positive events for Armenia."
