US Apologizes to Iraq

The United States has apologized to Iraq for the attack on its territory in early February, said Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in an interview with RIA Novosti. He made the statement during the Antalya Diplomatic Forum (ADF).

“Indeed, Washington did not warn Iraq regarding its operations against Iraqi security forces. An official representative of the United States has apologized for this situation,” the minister said.

Earlier, John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House, admitted that the United States had not informed the Iraqi government in advance of its intention to carry out airstrikes on February 3 and apologized for the mistake.
