Aliyev Discusses the Southern Gas Corridor
The Southern Gas Corridor is fundamentally changing the geography of energy supplies to Europe through the construction of new pipelines. This was stated by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in an interview with Euronews.
"The 3,500-kilometer pipeline has now become a reality. It is no longer a dream. It encompasses an increasing number of countries, as we have new connections that allow for the transportation of natural gas in new directions. In fact, it is completely altering the geography of energy supply, as well as addressing energy security issues," said Aliyev.
He also noted that Azerbaijan has a very ambitious agenda for renewable energy production projects. "We plan to maximize the use of renewable energy sources in ten years and reduce the consumption of natural gas within the country," added the Azerbaijani leader.
