VIDEO: Ukrainian Armed Forces Attempt Attack on Major Russian Explosives Factory
Ukrainian armed forces attempted to attack the Sverdlov Urban Manufacturing Plant located in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region, during the night of March 1. This was reported by the Mash Telegram channel, with information also being relayed by gazeta.ru.
According to the channel, three drones were launched towards the facility, but they were suppressed through electronic warfare (EW) tactics. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The plant is part of Russia's military-industrial complex and is among the largest producers of explosives in Russia, serving as a primary component for anti-aircraft missile systems. In June 2023, it was included in the EU sanctions list.
It was reported the day prior that anti-aircraft defense (AAD) systems had destroyed a Ukrainian drone and intercepted three other Ukrainian drones over Russian territories during the night. The Ministry of Defense highlighted that the Ukrainian drones were of aircraft type.
The AAD measures operated efficiently in the Belgorod and Nizhny Novgorod regions. Earlier in February, a Ukrainian drone was also shot down in the Nizhny Novgorod region. On the same night, AAD systems destroyed a total of 19 Ukrainian drones within Russian territory. According to the Ministry of Defense, the drones were shot down over Kursk, Bryansk, and Oryol regions, as well as over the Kuban area of the Black Sea.
