Head of Nor Nork Administrative District on Demolition of Buildings

The buildings in Nor Nork are not subject to privatization and must be demolished. This was stated today by the head of the Nor Nork administrative district, Tigran Ter-Margaryan, during a conversation with journalists.

Commenting on the issue of providing social support to those affected, the district head said, "We can discuss and offer assistance within our capabilities. That is, if the bridge is demolished, am I obliged to provide housing for those living under the bridge? People have occupied green areas that belong to the community for years. There is a family that has a property certificate, and we have already provided them with housing today."

According to him, the area will not be sold. "There will be no buildings here; instead, there will be a well-maintained green area," he said.

Referring to the work of previous mayors, Ter-Margaryan stated, "Previous mayors have made oversights, which Avinyan is now correcting."

It should be noted that by the decision of the Mayor of Yerevan, the illegally constructed residential buildings at the beginning of Gayi Avenue, located between Tatul Krpeyan Park and the Valencia complex, will be demolished. Residents oppose the mayor's decision and are trying to prevent the demolition work. They claim they have not received any notifications and have only been given two days to vacate their homes. A large number of police have now been brought to the area to maintain public order.
