Deputy Mayor Addresses Family Residing in Illegal Building in Nor Nork
The First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Armen Pambukhchyan, has commented on the demolition of illegal constructions on Lvivyan Street in the Nor Nork administrative district. “Dear residents of Yerevan, it is no secret that the city authorities are pursuing a policy of returning community-invaded lands to the people of Yerevan. For us, the interests of the community and the citizens of Yerevan are paramount, and there will be no deviations from this course, especially since we plan to carry out extensive greening work in the freed areas.
In this context, based on the relevant decisions of the Mayor of Yerevan, plots of land that are community property and the illegal constructions within them are being freed from illegal possession on Lvivyan Street in the Nor Nork administrative district. We are also aware that there is a family currently residing at one of the addresses. As a result of community discussions, we will consider the possibility of providing this family with temporary accommodation. We are ready to assist all other citizens who approach the area’s responsible authorities with requests to remove the property of the buildings,” noted the deputy mayor.
It should be noted that by the decision of the Mayor of Yerevan, residential houses built illegally at the beginning of Gay Street, located between Tatul Krpeyan Park and the Valencia Complex, are to be demolished. The residents oppose the mayor's decision and are trying to obstruct the demolition works. They claim they have not received any notifications and have only been given two days to leave their homes. Currently, a large number of police officers have been deployed to the area to maintain public order.
