City Hall Addresses Demolition of Park on Gayi Boulevard

According to decisions made by the Mayor of Yerevan, areas of municipal property and illegal constructions present on those lands will be freed from unlawful occupation. This was stated by the press secretary of the Mayor of Yerevan, Haik Kostanyan.

“Illegal constructions have been built on several addresses on Lvovyan Street in the Nor Nork administrative district on public green spaces, burdening the municipal properties,” he wrote.

Auroranews received calls regarding demolition work being carried out in the Tathol Krpeyan Park and nearby areas for the construction of a high-rise building. Many red berets and police officers have gathered at the site. Residents are not allowing the police to approach their homes.

The police informed Auroranews that they are maintaining public order. In an interview with Auroranews, Kostanyan mentioned that the work being carried out along the entire stretch of Myasnikyan Boulevard, including the park area, is aimed at clearing illegal buildings. These will be demolished, and trees will be planted in their place.

If carried out urgently, no prior notification is legally required. People have been informed and notified regularly.
