Aliyev Threatens Council of Europe

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has stated that the country may consider leaving the Council of Europe. "If the rights of the Azerbaijani delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) are not restored within a year, we may seriously consider the question of completely withdrawing from the Council of Europe," he said.

This statement was made by Aliyev during a meeting with a delegation led by Michael Harms, the president of the Eastern Committee of German Economy.
