Will the 'Kond Project' Become One of Nikol Pashinyan's Dark Pages? - 'Hraparak'

The newspaper 'Hraparak' writes: Residents of Yerevan well remember the scenes of evacuating the inhabitants of the city center for the construction of the Northern Avenue. Those evacuations became one of the darkest pages of Robert Kocharyan's rule. The 'Kond Project' threatens to become one of the dark pages of Nikol Pashinyan's leadership.

Yesterday, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced the start of the 'Kond' neighborhood's implementation. It was stated that the cadastral value of land in this area is 214 and 139 thousand drams per square meter, which translates to approximately 500-600 dollars. Residents of Kond immediately reacted.

Citizens who called the editorial office said: 'The prices they are offering are absurd, where are we supposed to go for 210 thousand drams from the center... People have lived in Kond for 100 years; now you want to take us out of our homes for pennies. We don’t want any money, we just want them to build a couple of buildings for us, and let them do whatever they want with the rest.'
