Armenian and Russian Citizens Attempted to Illegally Export 29.5 Million Rubles

The State Revenue Committee of Armenia's Eastern Customs Administration and the Regional Division of the Anti-Smuggling Department have unveiled an attempt at illegal transportation of cash following information received from officers of the National Security Service's Border Control Department of Bagratashen.

At the Bagratashen state border crossing point, an attempt to illegally export 29 million 510 thousand Russian rubles (equivalent to 130 million Armenian drams) was thwarted.

A portion of the money, specifically 15 million Russian rubles, was discovered in a passenger vehicle that had arrived at the Bagratashen customs checkpoint. The remaining amount of 14 million 510 thousand rubles was found with four passengers in the vehicle, who were citizens of Armenia and Russia.

The materials related to the case have been sent to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
