Suspicious Explosive Alert Received in Arabkir, Bomb Squad Arrives
Today, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 13:40, the operational management center of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report that a bomb had been placed in the yard of 30/3 Gulbenkian Street and that it would explode, according to Shamshyan.com.
It has been reported that the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, General Major Aram Hovhannisyan, the Chief of Police of Armenia, and the Deputy Chief of Police for Services, Colonel Karen Hakobyan, as well as the Chief of the Yerevan City Police Administration, General Major Sevan Kocharyan, have arrived at the scene. Fire and rescue teams, as well as bomb disposal units, have also been dispatched.
An entire high-rise area has been cordoned off. Special units of the National Security Service are currently operating on site. A standby team of emergency doctors from Yerevan 1-03 is also present. Arabkir community head Aram Azatyan has also arrived at the location.
In a conversation with Auroranews, the police confirmed that an object resembling an explosive device had been discovered at the given address.
