Kond Neighborhood to Be Fully Expropriated, Avinyan
Currently, there are 254 applications regarding the legalization of buildings and land in the Kond neighborhood. This was stated by Haik Muradyan, the head of the Architecture and Urban Development Department, during a regular meeting of the Yerevan City Hall’s executive staff.
“There is a draft decision from the mayor for 154 cases and 25 mayoral decisions. They have been notified about the payments; however, at this moment, we do not have any payments,” he said.
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan stated that the Kond neighborhood will be entirely expropriated. “In the future, the Kond neighborhood will be fully expropriated to implement a new urban development program. The logic of this entire project is to ensure that the residents of Kond can maximize their rights, considering that for decades, parts of what they thought was their property were not legally recognized as such. Now we want to understand at least what the average payment per square meter will be,” he elaborated.
Haik Muradyan responded that according to zoning, the cadastral value is 214 or 139 thousand drams per square meter. “In 25 cases, we have amounts subject to payment ranging from 100,000 to 650,000 drams,” he added.
