Australia Imposes Sanctions in Connection with Navalny's Death

The Australian government has imposed sanctions on several employees of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service in connection with the death of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny. This information was reported by the TASS agency.

In a statement released by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is noted that 'targeted financial restrictions and entry bans to Australia are being imposed on six employees of Correctional Colony No. 6 in Vladimir region' and on the former Deputy Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service, General-Lieutenant Alexei Girichev.

According to Australia's Department of Home Affairs, the sanctions list includes the head of Correctional Colony No. 6 and his deputies.

It should be recalled that on February 16, the administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reported on the death of Alexei Navalny in the colony.
