21+ VIDEO: A U.S. Military Man Self-Immolated Near the Israeli Embassy
A U.S. Air Force active-duty service member attempted self-immolation near the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C. In this act, 25-year-old Aaron Bushnell expressed his protest against the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
In footage circulated online, the uniformed young man identifies himself as an active-duty member of the U.S. Air Force and proclaims, “I will no longer participate in genocide.” As he walks in front of the Israeli embassy, Bushnell states, “I am organizing a very strong protest now, but my actions do not matter compared to what Palestinians feel at the hands of their occupiers.”
He then douses himself in gasoline, sets himself on fire, and repeatedly shouts “Freedom for Palestine.” The voice of a security staff member from the diplomatic mission can be heard asking, “Can someone help him?” before ordering, “Get on the ground.” At this moment, another officer says, “We need a fire extinguisher, not a gun.”
The man was transported to a hospital in critical condition. No information has been reported regarding Bushnell's identity beyond what has been stated.
