Rescuers Retrieve Partially Mutilated Body of 50-Year-Old Man from Gorge
On February 25, at approximately 10:20 AM, information was received at the Lori regional department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia regarding a body found near the Bulgarian settlement’s shacks. This was reported by shamshyan.com.
According to the news outlet, police discovered the body of a man in the indicated area. Due to the rough terrain, the Bazeum police station requested assistance from the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia. A fire and rescue team consisting of one operational unit from the Vanadzor Fire and Rescue Squad No. 36, along with an operational group from the regional rescue department, arrived at the scene.
Rescuers faced significant challenges in approaching the body, which was located several hundred meters away. The Bazeum police station has forwarded information about the incident to the Lori regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, where an investigative team was dispatched. A criminal case has been initiated.
Investigators determined that the deceased was a 50-year-old man, Vahagn M., a resident of the Lori region, who had been reported missing a few days prior by the Lori regional police. The body was partly mutilated.
Notice: A suspect in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by a court ruling that has come into legal force, as stipulated by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
